ILR Test-orientated Course
The ILR scale, created by the Federal Government’s Interagency Language Roundtable and based on descriptions from the Foreign Service Institute, is the standard used by the U.S. Federal Government to assess and describe language proficiency. It consists of six levels, ranging from 0 (No Practical Proficiency) to 5 (Native or Bilingual Proficiency), with additional "plus" levels to indicate proficiency that falls between the main categories. The ILR scale covers the entire spectrum of language abilities.
